3. Use a moisturizer after use.

Tips
• Spot Test
To check if you are allergic, test behind the ear.
To check for irritation, the area where you are most sensitive To check for clogs or acne, the area which you experience this the most
1. Wet the area you will be applying the soap. If applying to your face we recommend spot testing under your chin. If applying to the body we recommend spot testing the inside of your elbow.
2. Apply soap to the area which was wet.
3. Leave on the skin for couple of minutes before washing off. If you experience any burning sensation during this time please wash of immediately.
4. Wait another 10 minutes and observe your skin. If your skin hasn't experienced any adverse reactions you are good to use it.
Note: Some people will react fairly immediately with a product (within 24 hours or even within minutes if it's an allergic reaction), while others take a bit longer to see negative effects.
- To combat irritation (burning, stinging, redness) associated with use, take off a small amount of soap (liquid or solid), knead it into a ball and work it into lather by rubbing it between your fingers. Be gentle if applying directly to the skin, the soap contains plantain ash granules and other debris that might not dissolve quickly and can scratch and damage the skin.
- To prevent dryness, wash and rinse skin with cool water to help skin retain more moisture and follow with a lightweight non-comedogenic moisturizer after use.
- Browse through the ingredient list, and watch for ingredients that you might be allergic to. Raw black soap contains high concentration of fats, waxes and fat-soluble vitamins. May contain some latex from the plantains, palm and coconut oil.
- If your skin feels squeaky clean after use, it means the skin is too dry. Try reducing the amount of soap that you use. A very small amount (dime size) is erough to cleanse the entire face and neck.
- If you have sensitive and/or dry skins start out by using it only once a day.
- When exposed to air black soap can develop a thin white-colored film. This is not mold. You might want to cut the block into smaller pieces, wrap it in plastic, and store it in a zipper bag to keep it from drying out.
